Commemorative Event Fund

This fund provides financial support to RSLs for community gatherings that align with a nationally recognised commemorative date and acknowledge Australia’s wartime heritage.

Please note:

  1. From 2026 this fund is the sole mechanism to support RSL led commemorative events in the City of Onkaparinga. Applications for commemorative events outside of this fund will not be considered.
  2. All projects funded must complete council’s event application process and ensure delivery of safe, compliant events with minimal environmental impact.
  3. Applicants must complete all sections of this application form and attach relevant documentation to this application to be eligible to be funded.
  4. All applications are subject to availability of funds.
  5. A submission of an online application for a City of Onkaparinga funding program is an acknowledgement that applicants will abide by the conditions of any funding approval.

Confirmation of Eligibility

This section of the application is designed to help you - and us - understand if you are eligible for this grant.

To be eligible the following must apply

  • Be a RSL sub-branch/ community group delivering commemorative events within the municipality. Unincorporated groups must be auspiced.
  • your organisation is located in and delivering the event within the City of Onkaparinga boundary 
  • your organisation does not owe any reports or money to the City of Onkaparinga as a result of previous funding or grants
  • your organisation agrees to provide a copy of your Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency (minimum $20 million).
